Study Technology – Empowering Students of All Ages

School can and should be rewarding for all students.

We have all known students for whom this is not true, or at least not as true as it should be. Students left trying to get through new studies while having mounds of poorly understood and not-understood material from previous studies find so little rewarding about school that they eventually stop showing up.

Today there is really no excuse for this.

With what is now known about learning and teaching, no student should be lost along the way. This know-how is contained in Study Technology (Study Tech), an educational philosophy and a practical approach to teaching and learning based on research and developments by American writer and educator L. Ron Hubbard during the second half of the twentieth century.

Study Technology is not some obscure collection of study tips or memory tricks, but is an understanding of how to study and how to actually learn. It is a knowledge of how to apply this data to help any student of any age learn anything he or she wants.

Study Tech and Students

With the youngest students, Study Technology is an approach to teaching used by teachers to help students know why they are learning something and to learn it for themselves. This is miraculous in feeding young children’s natural passion to learn—the most valuable asset of children (and schools).

As children in this frame of mind roar up through their school levels, the whole effect is made more powerful by fully letting the students themselves in on the "secret"— Study Tech as their own personal tool. With Study Tech, they have the ability to spot when some aspect of their studies is going off the rails or slowing down, and what is more important, they know what to do about it.

Study Technology at Delphi Academy

Starting in the early levels, every Delphi student eventually learns all the tools about how to learn. They become their own Study Tech experts. Understanding the fundamentals of the learning process itself, they discover that any lack of success in learning can be traced back to causes they can control. They learn why some students are self-motivated and some aren't. They learn the early-warning signs for lack of comprehension and an inability to apply what they are learning. Moreover, as they become increasingly expert with Study Tech, they learn exact actions to take to resolve these difficulties and keep themselves on track. And along the way, their teachers are always at hand offering new challenge, good source materials and any help they need to stay aloft.

As they grow up, students acquire the ability to study any subject effectively and independently. Study Tech is a powerful tool that gradually allows students of all ages to take genuine control of their own education and, ultimately, their futures.

Empowering students with an ability to study is an investment that pays off for a lifetime.
