Our effectiveness can be seen in the results we obtain with our students. Our Lower School students take the California Achievement Tests (CAT) annually, regularly scoring at least one grade level ahead of age and quite often two and three grade levels ahead. But the results that mean the most to us can be found in the attitudes and behavior of our students, as well as in the enthusiasm and support from our parents. We invite you to find out for yourself what our students and their parents say they have gained from the Lower School program.

Success Stories from Students

"I like to make projects like puppets and caterpillars. I like to do handwriting and I also like sports. The thing I like most is reading. I like to go to Delphi and I did my 'bestest' to graduate."
Amy, Age 5 1/2

Success Stories from Parents

"My daughter, Julianne, has been going to Delphi now for over a year and a half. In that time, she has completed Beginner 1, Beginner 2, and just recently Form 1. She was six years old in March, she is now beginning (the equivalent to) third grade. This is really very phenomenal success. One of my greatest joys has been watching the way her education at Delphi fosters her natural passion to learn. She loves so many things at school that each day I have trouble getting her to leave. Imagine!

"She loves to read and considers visiting the library a real treat. Although she hasn't yet done division in her formal math training, she asks me to explain the concept, gets it, and then has me give her problems to solve––which she answers correctly. She's learning her basics so well that she extrapolates and extends those basics to other areas. Often times she asks me to give her addition or subtraction problems in the car. She loves to create pictures and music and does so. She learns songs at Delphi and sings them with gusto. Her gymnastic and other physical skills continue to improve, and I derive great pleasure watching her climb, crawl, and hang and swing like a monkey on her swing set. If ever I observe any poor performance, I have only to write a note to Julianne's teacher. Immediately, a fine-tuned machine goes into swift action to locate the exact problem and handle it completely.

"As a Delphi parent, I am deeply grateful for the peace of mind about my child and for the knowledge that Julianne is not only getting the finest education possible, but is growing in a sane, safe and loving environment. You enhance my efforts as a parent immeasurably, and I learn from your example.

"Thank you all from the bottom of my heart."

"My son Max has been attending Delphi since he was five years old. He is now eight and recently graduated from the Lower School into the Elementary where he is doing fourth grade work! In the short time he has been at Delphi, his basics are really in. Because of this, he has been able to grow in so many other ways. He is always willing to help where and when he can. He has become responsible both for his own actions and those of others. I recently had the pleasure of overhearing him talking to himself one morning at breakfast. He was reading a magazine and the cover posed the question, "Is there any answer to illiteracy?" Max looked at this and immediately said out loud, "Yes, study technology!" I grinned from ear to ear. This program is truly the best. In the Lower School, the basics are stressed for an excellent reason. Once a child has a firm foundation, he can really start to learn and live!"

"We would like to acknowledge all the incredible work Leslie has done with our daughter, Gabrielle. Leslie went way beyond just being Gabrielle's teacher by setting a stellar example for her. There was never a moment when she was not willing to do whatever it took to help Gabrielle to get through any difficulty she was having. Leslie has shown such care with all of us. Her knowledge of her craft shines daily and we are pleased and honored to have had the experience of having her teach Gabrielle as well as teaching us how we can help with her studies. We know Gabrielle will succeed in whatever path she chooses."
